FaerieBells Botanicals: Photos from the Garden
April
Personally, April requires a leap of faith when it
comes to herbing. The snow, if there was any, has
just barely finished melting and once again the
terrain is pretty desolate. But if one digs underneath
the dried grasses from last fall, there's all kinds of
things going on.
MayAh. The merry month of May....
June
This has to be my favorite month. The Yarrow is blooming
fulltilt, and needs to be picked right quick before the
spiders start building their houses under the umbrellas
of flowers. St. John's Wort is usually quite prevalent
and makes its appearance, as if it knows the calendar,
right around the Summer Solstice.
July
And now, already, the days are starting to get shorter.
Blessed relief some years in view of the heat, but it
feels like summer is all too quickly starting to end.
The St. John's Wort crop is waning and each day it takes
longer to pick less. Tansy and Sumac are taking over the
fields.
